As a wedding and portrait photographer the one question I get asked the most is “What do you recommend wearing for portraits?” To answer your question.. Go with something that represents YOU. If you’re having your family portrait done and your son wants to wear his favorite cape…let him wear it. If your daughter wants to wear her princess crown or her ballerina outfit and not the dress you picked out for her…so be it. Remember these are your portraits and you don’t have to be like everyone else. Lastly, we’ve all been told that solid colors look the best but patterns and layering look awesome in camera too.
