It’s “decades day” at school next week and our son is dressing from the 80’s/90’s. I remember the 80’s/90’s like it was yesterday. The Motorola cellular phone, hair crimping, big hair with lots of hair spray, mullets, wide-leg jeans, The Real World reality TV show on MTV, parachute pants, Freezy Freakies snow gloves, the toy Tamagotchi, slap bracelets, Doc Marten boots, leg warmers, Ty Beanie Babies plush toys, plaid clothing, Cabbage Patch Dolls, Yo Yo’s, chain wallets, a “beeper”, bangs, oversized denim, the movie/movie quote “Keep the change, you filthy animal” from Home Alone, Polly Pocket toys, overalls with one strap hanging down, the toy skip it, freeze pops, Home Improvement TV show, french rolled jeans, the toy light bright, Super Nintendo, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air TV show, neon Crayola crayons, the song “Gangsters Paradise” by Coolio, Lunchables, fruit roll-ups, jelly sandals, platform sneakers, scrunchies, bucket hats…the list goes on.
Here is what I put together for our kindergartener!
